Top Spring and Summer Beauty Products
When it comes to Spring and Summer, the number and range of beauty products I use increases dramatically. During the winter, I basically use the thickest lotion I can find, I barely touch my hair, and I kind of pretend makeup doesn’t exist. Then spring comes, temperatures rise, and I come out of hibernation feeling like some sort of butterfly who hasn’t quite found her color yet.
It’s a chance to try new products, explore what is trending, and figure out what the heck happened to my skin THIS winter. Because there’s always something new. These are my favorites this season!
Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation
Let me tell you how much I love this foundation. This stuff really lasts forever through so many different activities including a nap. With a dog. Snuggling my face. Guys, that’s unprecedented!
I’ve also recently developed some adult acne that I’m struggling with. This foundation works wonderfully to gently cover it up without causing more breakouts. Color me happy!
Disclaimer: I received this foundation complimentary for testing and review purposes. All opinions are my own. Thanks, Influenster.
L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Tanning Towlettes
Yeah, I’m one of those who enjoys a good summer glow without all the work. So I cheat. And I’m not sorry about it. Especially when it’s so easy with these towlettes! Take one out of the box, give yourself a thorough wipe-down, and go. No streak, super easy, and you get amazing color in just a few hours. Because it’s in towel form, there’s so much less waiting around naked for mousse or lotion to dry fully. Which, for me, means less chance for the pups to give me really awkward kisses.
I used to be a diehard Jergen’s girl when it came to my self tanning products. But these towlettes are convincing me to expand my horizons!
Disclaimer: I received these towlettes at a discount and contest entry with L’Oreal, Walgreens, and Influenster.
Burberry Brit Rhythm For Her
I. Love. This. Scent. Seriously, it’s my favorite. I love the light floral notes, especially the English lavender. I love the bottle. I love that it’s not one of Burberry’s more popular scents so it always turns heads. I just love everything about it more than I can say. A little spritz at my throat, wrists, and in my hair is enough to keep me smelling light and fresh all day without being that overpowering cloud that makes you cough every time she walks by.
Aveda ‘Damage Remedy(tm)’ Daily Hair Repair
I’m sure by now you guys noticed that I went blonder thanks to the ever wonderful Noemi at Spoke and Weal Chicago. But going blonder means more damage. So she recommended this product to help my hair recover from all the processing I put it through. Even using it daily for one week I noticed a difference. I put a nickel-sized amount in my ends every day and it helps keep my hair from feeling like it’s been over-processed. It’s helping me keep a natural feeling texture and protecting my locks from getting damaged even further. I swear by this stuff now.
Ouai Matte Pomade
Speaking of hair. On the other end of things, aka my roots, I’ve got flyaways like nobody’s business. Because somehow, curly hair doesn’t like the combo of lightener and lots of straighteneing. Who knew?! I love this pomade by the ever-popular Ouai because it helps smooth those down without feeling gross. Perfect for a second-day hair kind of morning where I just need something quick to fix the issue and go. And I need so little that the jar has been lasting forever! You can’t even tell I’ve used it yet. Talk about good value.
Burberry Spring/Summer 17 Nail Colors
I splurged on the full set of Spring/Summer 17 nail colors last fall right after the London Fashion Week show’s livestream. And I haven’t regretted my choice once. The colors are amazing. Teal, nude, and a soft pink make up the collection and offer a wonderfully muted palette to pair with all my favorite spring fashions.
L’Oreal Paris Glam Bronze
I’ve been using the same bronzer for years. And when I say that, I don’t mean the same brand. I mean the same exact compact for like two years. I think it’s safe to say it was time to try something new. Enter this awesome bronzer by L’Oreal Paris. I’m so happy with how this naturally blends in with my skin tone and gives me that kiss of summer glow with the lightest hint of shimmer to keep things bright and fresh.
Disclaimer: I received this bronzer at a discount as a contest entry with L’Oreal Paris, Walgreens, and Influenster.
So there you have it! The beauty products I’m currently using to rock spring and summer and keep myself feeling fresh and beautiful day in and day out.
