Cruise with Mystic Blue, Boathouse Blogger Bash
Happy Labor Day, to those of you who live in the US. I hope you’re all enjoying a good summer send-off with some form of barbecue or other outdoorsy activity (such as a cruise!). I’m headed to the Renaissance Faire to send off that season. So excited! Keep up with me on snapchat @dannie54 if you want to see some extreme nerdery.
What happens when you combine Lake Michigan, a Chicago skyline sunset, a boat, and a group of bloggers? You get the most epic [and most photographed] sunset cruise to happen all summer. Mystic Blue Cruises teamed up with the Windy City Blogger Collective to throw us hard working bloggers an amazing party to enjoy one of Chicago’s signature summer events, a sunset cruise on the Lake. We had deck games including gigantic Jenga, adult fruity lemonade served in mason jars, cruise-worthy snacks, and so much more. It was an amazing time, a great chance to catch up with some of my favorite blogger friends, and a chance to really let loose!
Mystic Blue is one of the many yachts docked on Chicago’s Navy Pier which offers casual cruises that range from tourist day out all the way to formal holiday party for your corporation. Some of the others include the Odyssey, and Spirit of Chicago. They’re all pretty excellent but Mystic Blue definitely wins for being the only one I’ve successfully not gotten motion sick on. That’s a HUGE win for me.
It was great to hang out with some of my favorite bloggers including Nikki of 30s and Chic, Dasha of Windy City Wardrobe, Michaela of The Deep End Review, and Allie of Allie’s Fashion Alley. We even got to toast the 5th blogiversary of Christine’s blog, Lattes, Life & Luggage with her and Caitlin & Danielle of Once Upon a Dollhouse.
All around, the evening was definitely one for the books. I love getting together with the girls of the Windy City Blogger Collective. Thanks to Mystic Blue and the Collective for putting together this amazing blogger party!
What’s your favorite summer activity? Does your area have a signature event or outing that you just HAVE to do each summer? I want to know about them all in the comments!
